Spring Fever

Brothers & Sisters came back on Sunday after an agonizing month-long hiatus.  While definately one of the lightest episodes of the season drama-wise, I loved the much-needed return of the show’s humor.

This isn’t my favorite scene of the episode, but it’s my favorite out of the ones on Youtube.  The siblings warning Nora not to “pounce,” coupled with Nora’s obsessive gardening to distract herself, is absolutely hilarious.  It’s all for nothing, though, since Tommy decides not to come home just yet anyway   Why they bothered to toy with us with everything else going on in this episode, I’ll never know.  Seriously, they could’ve not mentioned Tommy at all and I really wouldn’t have cared.   But I suppose they felt they had to keep up the story line the best they could without bringing Balthazar Getty back.  It’s funny, when they said that Getty would be getting the boot, I thought for sure that meant he would be in the slammer the rest of the season.  Oh well.

Anyway, my actual favorite scene of the whole episode was when Roger came back for Nora at midnight in her garden.  Now, ask anyone I know, they’ll tell you I am no hopeless romantic.   But Sally Field was so…cute during the whole scene!  The shock on her face when he tells her he ended his open marriage for her, and that  “ah!” when he tells her he loves her…it was like the end of a romance movie!  Totally got that warm, fuzzy feeling.

*End of mushy rant*

Right, so, one more point.  I am so sick of Ryan, Rebecca and Holly!  Why are any of them there anymore???  Please, tell me!  Between his needy, wimpy, whiny personality, and his Twilight-reject looks, Ryan is the most annoying character on this show.  I wouldn’t mind if he was evil, mind you - it’s his bland personality that drives me mad. The writers really mucked up him and his storyline.  First they make him a Walker sibling, then he ends up latching on to Rebecca, who I also can’t stand??   Can all three of them just be run over by a bus or something?  Actually, out of the three of them I like Holly the best, so if Ryan and Rebecca went off and got married, never to be heard from again, I wouldn’t mind.  They can stay alive, just as long as I don’t have to deal with their useless scenes anymore.

Still, I’m looking forward to the next episode.  The story lines with Sarah and Kevin, my two favorite Walker sibs, were kind of self-contained in that episode (though at least they had plot lines), so I’ll be looking for them in the next.
